Q1 Review
It has been a couple of years since I did this properly.
I should be at 36.9 swim miles, 446 bike miles and 183 run miles. Or if I am pushing on towards the stretch targets 40.6, 490.6 and 201.3.
I should also have logged at least 14 each of weights, core and stretching sessions and yoga.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Swimming has mostly been a good year so far. I am about 3 miles behind my target but I lost most of that to the flu. I am doing a much better job of planning and executing sessions rather than just turning up and doing steady swims. This is starting to pay off as my pace has improved through the second half of March.
Here is the graphical version, the grey line is actuals red and dotted red are target and stretch target. The flat line at the start of March was the fortnight I had the flu.The bike continues to be way above plan despite my intention to cut back. I was meant to be doing less on the bike again this year but it has become my staple means of commuting, and I am still right up at my stretch target.
Again the small flat section is the week with the flu. I am slightly behind the run numbers but I am doing a great job on run speed. Moray 10k was not great but the fast sessions every week are definitely starting to pay off.

The graph shows that I am pretty much in a 'normal' year as far as miles go. The steep blue line is from marathon year and can be ignored. The pink line is from last year and the broken ankle, the brown line from the year I was suffering badly with my depression. I am right in amongst the rest.
8 weights and 9 core sessions puts me slightly behind my base schedule for 40 in the year.
18 yoga sessions puts me ahead of my base plan of 52 for the year, but behind my stretch and front-loaded plans where I should be at 30.
--------------------------------------------------------------
As it is end-of-Quarter I also am due for a check in against other targets.
I haven't done a swim or bike race. I am managing to plan almost all my swim sessions and rarely resorting to just steady miles for the sake of it.
Running I have only done one race and I was a solid chunk behind my sub-43 10k target, but I think there was more in the tank. Maybe not 2 minutes more but certainly something. My ankle is still improving.
